Physical Education & Sports are a very important yet undervalued part of education of the whole person going toward a healthy life style. Therefore Monlux supports recess and daily activity at the Elementary school level along with before/after school programs while keeping recess. He also supports daily physical education in Jr. High/Middle School and High School. At both the Jr. High/Middle School & High School level, Monlux also supports the awarding of academic credit for both school sports participation, outside competitive club participation and Olympic Athlete participation. In addition he calls for 2 classes of physical education as a requirement for those attempting to obtain Associate Degrees and 4 classes of physical education for those at the Bachelor Degree level. America has a weight problem and its time we encourage more people to become active and stay active to get/stay healthy instead of the obesity crisis our country is facing today.
